The chalet features three distinct rental options, each designed to help guests enjoy the magic of Mount Washington at their own pace. The ground-floor Studio Suite is ideal for couples or a young family seeking simplicity, comfort, and easy access. It sleeps up to four and offers everything needed for a relaxing few days in the mountains. The Main Floor expands the experience with two queen bedrooms, a hide-a-bed, excellent views, and the added luxury of a rejuvenating sauna—an especially welcome reward after a long day on the slopes. For larger families or groups, the Top Floor and Loft provide two queen bedrooms, two twin beds in the loft, and a fully equipped kitchen with its own laundry appliances. Each option reflects the warmth and character of the chalet, ensuring a restful stay in a peaceful alpine setting.

Guests love the chalet’s vantage point overlooking the village toward Strathcona Park. The views extend across the mountains, offering bright winter mornings, peaceful fall colours, and glorious summer sunsets from the balcony. While the wood-burning stove is currently being upgraded to code, the rest of the chalet remains fully equipped and ready for your getaway. WiFi is available throughout the building, and cell service is reliable, making it easy to stay connected when needed. Instead of televisions, we provide a thoughtful selection of board games—perfect for families who enjoy unplugging and spending time together.

Mount Washington is British Columbia’s only true four-season alpine destination on Vancouver Island, offering an abundance of outdoor activities. Winter brings alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing, tobogganing, and terrain parks. The ski-in ski-out access from the chalet means no hiking or shuttles—just step outside and glide directly to the lifts. In summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hiking, lift-accessed mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, and alpine wandering through Strathcona Provincial Park. For guests who like to stay active, relax in nature, or explore new mountain terrain, the region delivers endless opportunities.

Practical considerations are simple, too. During the winter season, high snow levels require guests to park in the lower mountain parking lots, a short five-minute walk from the chalet. Sleds are provided to help you bring supplies up the path. Winter tires are recommended, and carrying chains, a tarp, and a flashlight is wise during storms, as chains may be required. The road to the resort is fully paved, well maintained, and clearly marked from the highway. Travel is straightforward, with regular bus services from Courtenay up the mountain during the ski season. Guests arriving from farther away will find the regional airport at CFB Comox within easy reach, as well as airports in Nanaimo and Campbell River.

While the Alpine Village does not have a grocery store, there are restaurants at the resort, and additional shopping can be found in the surrounding towns.
